Technology Challenges for the Future:
- I am affraid that technology will be constantly upgraded and that I will find it extremely difficult to keep up.
- I strongly believe that technology is an important tool in a child’s education and I’m excited to learn how to make the most of this technology. Despite all of this, I have concerns about people becoming to reliant on technology and losing the ability to cope without it.
- Unfortunately it is already evident that the youth of today are replacing quality time for conversation and recreation with technology. Becoming addicted to MSN, Face book and My Space and hypnotised with video games and music videos. This is not the type of technology that I will be promoting in my classrooms.
ICT in the Classroom:
In all of my experiences as a teacher whether it be on practicum or teaching casually, I have not had very much experience using ICT. Yes there have been times when I have developed a 3D maths lesson based around a website, I have used the smart board to display information during lessons, however, my computer skills really extend no further than this. It is not so much that I am not interested, it is that I have never had the opportunity to develop the skills to confidently use computer technology and therefore do not have the confidence to use it in the classroom.
I am extremely excited to master and add to these skills as I believe that ICT plays an integral role in teaching and learning in schools.
